Summer is a season of energy, expansion, and warmth - a time when the sun invites us to move outward, to travel, to celebrate. But just as nature finds its rhythm, so too must we. Amidst all the busyness and brightness, summer is also a chance to return inward, to pause, and to recommit to the practices that keep us grounded.
One of the most powerful ways we honor this transition at B. Power Yoga is through the ritual of 108 Sun Salutations on the Summer Solstice.

Why 108?
The number 108 is sacred across many spiritual traditions - symbolizing wholeness, cosmic order, and the connection between the individual and the universe. In yoga, 108 sun salutations is not just a physical feat; it’s a moving meditation. A ritual of release, of intention, of presence.
Each salutation becomes a breath, a step, a moment. As the body repeats the familiar arc of movement - reaching up, folding down, stepping back - we find space to let go of what no longer serves us and welcome in what’s ahead.
Whether you complete all 108 or a handful, the practice is deeply personal. It's less about endurance and more about showing up - again and again - with devotion and curiosity.
Staying Committed Through the Heat
It’s easy to let routines fade during summer months. Days get longer, schedules shift, vacations call. But yoga isn’t just about what happens on your mat - it’s the practice of being present in all seasons of life. Summer is an opportunity to explore what your practice looks like when life feels full. It’s a reminder that grounding is just as important as growing.
The consistency of showing up, even once a week, can have a profound impact - mentally, physically, emotionally. Your mat doesn’t ask for perfection; only presence.
Solstice Practice & Meditation | June 21 at B. Power Yoga
To mark the longest day of the year, join us for a special community gathering:
9:00 – 11:30 AM – Practice 108 Sun Salutations (studio or lawn, solo or in a group). You’ll collect a bead for each salutation to build your own mala - a physical symbol of your intention and commitment.
11:30 – 1:00 PM – Sound Bath & Meditation with Shari Santos and Sunni Ingalls. A space to relax, reflect, and restore.
We’ll also have mini tattoos, vendor pop-ups, sidewalk sales, and a few summer surprises. Whether you practice or just stop by, you're welcome in this space.
A Gentle Invitation
This season, stay close to what steadies you. Let your breath guide you, your body lead you, your practice anchor you. Yoga is not a task to check off - it’s a space to return to.
We’ll meet you there.
