The Yoga

Stand in your power. Flow with ease.

MicrosoftTeams-image (97).png

Our practice offerings are , VINYASA POWER YOGA, HOUR OF POWER, YIN,  RESTORATIVE, FOUNDATIONS, + BASICS. When we are connected to the present moment and experience stillness, we create a strong foundation. The element of heat allows us to become malleable and soften what is fixed. We teach principles along with asana (pose) mechanics because our mission is to create flow and sustainability. Trust your power and just breathe.

We recommend that you bring a yoga mat, water and towel to any class. Plus, we suggest 1-2 yoga blocks or something similar. For Foundations, Yin and Restorative classes, gather a yoga strap (or strap substitute like an old tie or a tube sock), blankets, and bolsters/pillows if possible. Your instructor will help you at the beginning of class if you have any questions about props.

Our Practices:

VINYASA POWER YOGA

This 75-minute all-levels heated class will challenge you and leave you feeling empowered and restored. In this class, we move purposely with our breath to create regulation in the body... a tool you can use on and off your mat! You will flow from pose to pose - utilizing the principles of alignment, personal awareness and breath. This class is physically challenging and creatively designed to transform your body, revive your spirit and make you feel ALIVE. The room is heated to 90 degrees. Music may be played in this practice. Students of all levels of experience are welcome and options are given to both modify and intensify poses.

HOUR OF POWER

This 60-minute heated class will challenge you and leave you feeling empowered and restored.

RESTORATIVE

Restorative yoga is based on its root word "rest". The intention of this class is to use the support of bolsters, blankets, and blocks to give your body the effect of certain yoga poses - backbends, twists, forward folds - without using any muscle exertion. It is intended to be a slow, peaceful, meditative practice. The class is non-heated and music is typically played in this practice.

FOUNDATIONS

Foundations is a non-heated, gentle, non-flow class. In contrast to the Vinyasa classes where the poses link together to create movement or flow, this class dedicates more time to each particular pose and moves at a slower pace. Music may be played in this practice.

YIN

Yin yoga is a slower-paced class that works all of the connective tissue of the body. This is a great practice to improve joint mobility and strength as well as working on calming the nervous system down. We use props in this class (bolsters, blocks, blankets, etc.) to help promote safer and stronger poses. This is a non-heated class.

BASICS

This is an excellent class for beginning students and yogis wishing to practice at a more moderate pace. This is a great introduction to power vinyasa yoga; you will learn the basic yoga poses (asanas), healthy alignment, and yogic breathing. Classes include pose demonstration and description. This class is heated to 90 degrees, and you will increate your strength, flexibility, and range of motion while removing toxins and stress from your body. Music may be played in this practice.

THE FIRST CLASS

I remember going into my first class thinking how I wasn’t sure about taking a risk and trying something new, like yoga. Would people watch me? Judge me? Would I fail? Instead, a sense of calm, and ease came over me much to my surprise! The instructor shared during class that yoga doesn’t have to be complicated- it’s simple. Breathing and moving. Calm and ease. That’s stayed with me ever since.
